I’m Munawar Shah, a CPA turned software builder. I work where accounting judgment, operations, data, and applied AI meet.

Technology in service of human time.

The point of AI is not to make it easy to produce a lot. It is to return human attention and free up time for connection, intuition, and creativity.

AI can serve people or conflict with their interests. Useful systems keep human agency intact, make automation observable, and leave judgment with the person accountable for the outcome.

A crooked path into software

  1. 2011–2020

    PwC and accounting

    I spent seven years at PwC and became a CPA. The work taught me how businesses fit together, where controls matter, and why real workflows resist neat diagrams.

  2. 2020

    A plant shop went online

    I helped take a local plant shop online. It took off during Covid, so I left accounting and learned what it means to own a business outcome rather than advise on one.

  3. 2022

    Support became a software problem

    At ESW Capital I supported a large portfolio of software products. I built Wingman, a GPT-3.5 add-on and terminal interface for Zendesk. That opened the door to software roles.

  4. Now

    Applied AI systems

    I build agent orchestration, workflow software, and internal data systems. I care as much about the operating model and developer experience as the demo.

  • AI should return human time

    The useful measure of AI is not how much it produces. It is how much mechanical work it removes without taking judgment away from people.
